Despite often being called a remake, this film is actually a sequel to the original film, set about 30 years later. However, the nature of its sequel-ness dictates that it exists in an alternate universe in which Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, and Ash vs Evil Dead never take place. This has to do with the ending of the first film and its intended takeaway, and the subsequent films changing that ending. Evil Dead Rise is a big harder to place, as it is a complete spin-off and doesn't reference the events of any other Evil Dead property. I would like to say it's in the same universe as this film, based on knowledge from the show that seems to not affect Rise at all, but even I can't be certain of that.

The soundtrack in that last part reminds me of terminator which they have a similar moment where he's on fire walks for a bit then falls down and burns but this one ends where that one he gets back up and he's the endoskeleton not Arnold no more lol

I'm always laughing at the Ben tramer part watching it with you guys for some reason when that happened and he's burning I imagine the mortal kombat voice saying fatality lol maybe he's possessed like in supernatural that's funny meg on supernatural they did bunch of similar stuff to this they thought she was regular girl and she gets thrown out a building and hit the ground and they do similar shot of them looking down at hernlike Loomis did but she didn't disappear but before the end you saw she's alive with black eyes like Michael eyes she's been shot and at most its irritating but don't kill the demon the poor body gets banged up but I guess the demon must heal it or something cause otherwise it would bleed out or be hurt but she just walks it off like Michael they stop her like they do with Michael later in the series in six but that's in producers cut lol

At least Michael got the dude in the front Jason sneaks up on the guy in Friday the 13th part two and does hammer time both came out same year and I seen some hot girls react to that earlier now seeing you guys react to this one lol

Are we sure its the same strangers especially after this new movie and two more to go were assuming the strangers in prey is same as the ones in this one but maybe not maybe each movie is different set of strangers the world is full of strangers and yes they got the same masks but that's how these crazy people work they wanna do something but haven't then they hear a story about someone else doing something and that inspires them and they do same things or similar get the same or similar clothes masks or whatever or I've heard Maybe it's A cult or maybe its like that one show on that one channel where its a gated community of families who does same thing as the strangers all wear similar masks and kill similar ways and main characters is mom and dad killers with a daughter they trying to get into the life sound familiar lol

Best evil dead movie

This is my least favourite horror movie remake ever. The only two I can think of that I really hate is this one and the nightmare and elm Street remake. To me nothing can beat the original evil dead movies with Bruce Campbell and the ash vs evil dead show. Now that is evil dead

she's right that he was signaling to the other people around them with the fire, also the government probably didn't figure out how to kill them because their skin is impenetrable and every time they'd try, they'd make noise.

It's weird that this movie and "The First Omen" are very similar yet BOTH of them are good...

You need to check out the original Evil Dead trilogy that was directed by guy who directed the original Spider-Man trilogy. Then after that you need to check out Ash versus the Evil Dead TV series wish take place 30 years after the original trilogy. Is probably one of the best horror / comedy TV series there is to date. That also goes for Chucky based off your preference.

This is the best Evil Dead out of the entire series in my opinion. One of my favorite horror movies ever!!

Just to clarify: all 5 of them died, as required. Mia coming back to life, was irrelevant to the Demon coming up from the ground. (Also, it didn’t seem like you two actually remembered everything from ED: Rise.)

It’s really too bad you guys didn’t watch this series in order. 1980’s movies were really progressive with the practical effects, but still traditionally 80’s “Camp”. The 2013, is the true horror /homage. You unfortunately didn’t see the Easter eggs, b/c you don’t have the background from the original 3 movies. And still since watching Evil Dead Rise, I can tell you were not able to be surprised by some of the special effects/ gore in this movie. (For example: Natalie’s “hand” scene.) After the second original movie, you’ll understand.

Jenna was 17 when they filmed this so they obviously couldn't actually do a sex scene (Shes very particular about that even today, as shes averse to full nudity in her films) but the directors solution was genius and hilarious. You knew exactly wha was happening without seeing what was happening. Lol Fun Fact her next film was X and she was 18 when it was filmed. She agreed to do the "sex scene" in it only on the condition that she was never nude and she wasn't directly involved in even simultated motions. Girl's got her principles which I admire.

It may not have been a hit critically but people who get it, get it ya know. Its just a bonkers goofy fun film thats a hoot to watch.
